Conflict is a show-stopper.

Conflict is a show-stopper because it disrupts collaboration, communication, and progress in personal, professional, or creative settings. It generates tension, causes misunderstandings, and erodes trust, leading to unproductive environments.
When conflict goes unresolved, it can create emotional barriers, reduce morale, and hinder problem-solving and decision-making. For example, unresolved conflicts can stifle innovation and slow sustainable growth in creative fields. In relationships or teams, persistent conflict can damage cohesion, making it difficult to achieve common goals. The inability to effectively address and resolve conflict often results in stagnation and missed opportunities, ultimately halting momentum.
Becoming involved with people whose values are incompatible with your own is a big issue. Of all the roadblocks to growth, internal conflict is the one that can sabotage your efforts without you even knowing what happened. If you haven’t taken the time to discover your values, you are vulnerable to disharmony and the associated frustrations.
If you’re not ready or willing to change, let go and have others help you run your business. The best way to beat resistance to change is to practice letting go by focusing on positives rather than negatives and putting your energies into real possibilities. Embrace change, for it is at the core of life. Remember that work is a thing you do, not a place you go to, so make the most of what you do.
I am often asked to help somebody grow their business. Almost invariably, they tell me what they want regarding income, but their current status is vague or unknown. Here is their roadblock: They can’t settle because they are confused. They have an income figure in their mind that will take three to five years to reach, and expect to do it in the first year.
Many have no business Model, Business Plan, or Budget. They only have a vague notion of the market they want to sell into and the marketing they will use. They often lack the required working capital to achieve their desired income level.
Quotable quotes.
“New and old businesses often suffer from an inner conflict as they learn how to measure their performance”. Peter Sergeant
“Your organisation doesn’t have a remote control; you must resolve conflict through action orientation”. Peter Sergeant
