Regional business prosperity issues.

Most issues in regional, rural and remote communities are just under the surface and are often invisible to the uninitiated.
Consider the community or region as a business. While the following list may appear negative, look for opportunities to create new products and services, expand into new markets, and improve business efficiencies with better business models and planning. There is a need for more flexibility to adapt to the nature of the ‘regional business’ and ‘regional community’. Look at outsourcing, innovation, local import replacement and overseas market opportunities.
There is a long list of issues, but not everything applies to every community. Use it as a checklist to identify the community’s problems, frustrations, wants, and needs. Look for opportunities to address the competitiveness of smaller communities and their businesses and non-profits.
The small market can lead to increased vulnerability with sparse backup resources, making any mistakes lethal. Small-scale strategies can benefit from networking and clustering, but they are sometimes challenging to implement because of their small numbers. However, you must at least try by focusing on connections and making a contribution.
- Connection is the deep-rooted human need to feel loved, understood, and valued. It’s about building relationships where we belong and feel genuinely connected to others.
- Contribution is the need to go beyond ourselves, to serve, support, and uplift others. It’s where fulfilment lives, unlocking purpose, amplifying impact, and igniting the power to change lives.
